Headaches and Dizziness

Cervicogenic Headaches

These are headaches that can be caused by tight muscles and stiff joints in and around your neck.

Your headaches may feel like a constant dull ache and may be felt as a tight band around your head, pressure above ears or forehead or even felt in your eyes.

We treat cervicogenic or “neck headaches” with massage, mobilising the joints in your neck and then looking at the reasons that may have caused your stiff muscles and joints in the first place.

Dizziness – BPPV – Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo

Vertigo/spinning sensations which most commonly occur when you turn over in bed or move your head from side to side.

Caused from crystals being dislodged in your inner ear which makes you much more sensitive to position changes.

Treatment is simple it involves moving the patient quickly from sitting to lying with specific position changes. With correct diagnosis treatment for BBPV is successful usually within 1-2 treatments.
